SARAJEVO, July 1 (FENA) - Demobilized soldiers and war veterans who have no income expect that sessions to be convened within 48 hours so that both Houses of the FBiH Parliament, if possible, on the same day, consider and adopt the law on the rights of this category of veterans in the Federation of BiH and members of their families.
The reason for the urgency is to make it possible for the application of the law to begin as of July 1, said today Munir Karić from the coordinating body of the war veterans associations.
Karić, together with the FBiH Minister of Veteran Affairs and Disabled Veterans of War Salko Bukvarević, addressed the press after the meeting of the Working Group that has previously agreed to the proposal of the said law, and its members, as it was the case today, were from the ranks of demobilized soldiers, veterans of war, the FBiH Government and the Parliament of the FBiH.
According to Karić and Bukvarević's statements, the participants of the meeting expect that in parallel with the Proposal of the Law on the rights of demobilized soldiers and members of their families - as the official title of the Act - both Houses of the FBiH Parliament consider and approve at parallel sessions the revision of this year's budget of the Federation of BiH in a way to secure the funds for the application of the said law.
If the FBiH Parliament does not convene in the next 48 hours, the veterans will make their conclusions, Karić said, adding that they do not plan to give up on their demands.
The ultimate goal, according to Karić, is a comprehensive law for all demobilized defenders and veterans of war in FBiH from the both components, the Army of the RBiH and the HVO.
