SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, extended congratulations on the occasion of April 6 - the Day of the City of Sarajevo, marking the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the fascist occupation.
“Throughout history, this date, April 6, has been intertwined with significant events for the City of Sarajevo. The symbol of resistance, struggle and survival - that is Sarajevo. Everything that had happened to us we managed to overcome together. We defended our city and our country on numerous occasions, and we will do all over again if needed. Our commitment to anti-fascism, peace and freedom will always be the dominant force over any incoming attempts to break us up with fascism and nationalism.
Together, in our diversity, we have always been unique and special. We have a lasting duty to nurture that spirit of unity and solidarity and to pass it on to future generations.
I would like to congratulate to all my fellow citizens April 6 - the Day of the City of Sarajevo,” Komšić said in his congratulatory message.
