EUFOR Commander Dorfer visits Bihać and meets with Mayor Fazlić

FENA Press release

BIHAĆ, March 29 (FENA) - The EUFOR Commander in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Martin Dorfer, visited today the City of Bihać.

His second visit to Bihać in just over six months was a chance for General Dorfer to get better acquainted with the current situation in Bihać in the light of the ongoing migrant crisis.

Mayor Fazlić, referring to the situation in Bihać over the past six months, stressed that citizens of Bihać, local and cantonal authorities are still waiting for a concrete assistance from the competent state institutions.

“The EUFOR Commander is interested in the situation in our city, and I have asked him, on behalf of the City of Bihać and citizens to help this city with his authority and exert pressure on the state authorities. I warned him that Bihać can no longer deal with this crisis alone and that we do not want migrants to come to our city, and that those who are here now have to be moved out of the urban areas. Also, I informed him about our limited resources, and especially the burden on our police, which must and should be strengthened in logistic and every other sense,” underlined Fazlić.

He stressed that the problem of migration burdens the normal life of the city and its citizens and that it is high time for the proper response of the state institutions, said the office of the Mayor Fazlić.
