BiH CoM has tasked the Communications Ministry to sign the Roaming Agreement

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of BiH announced today that it fully recognizes the exceptional importance of timely signing of the "Regional Agreement on Reduction of the Cost of Roaming for the Western Balkan Countries", thus, at the 167th session held on February 26, it has delegated the departmental Ministry responsible for transport and communications to sign the mentioned Agreement during the digital summit in Belgrade.

“Bearing in mind that the competent ministries of communication and transport from the state and entity levels, the Communications Regulatory Agency, as well as telecom operators have previously taken the view that BiH will not be able to fulfill all obligations for the start of implementation of the Agreement by July 2019, the Council of Ministers of BiH has instructed the Ministry of Communications and Transport to take up the most optimal position for BiH, with the obligation to start the implementation of the agreement by the end of 2019, at the latest, the Council of Ministers said.

The Council of Ministers of BiH highly appreciates the importance and benefits of this Agreement, primarily for BiH citizens, as well as strengthening the telecommunications market, consumer protection, better competitiveness and transparency of electronic communication sector, the BiH Council of Ministers said in a statement.
