BANJA LUKA, February 28 (FENA) – Government of Republika Srpska (RS) supported implementation of project "Construction of Motorway on Corridor 5-C, through RS, from loop Rudanka (Kostajnica) to Karuša/entity border in the south“. Tender for the first section from loop Johovac to loop Rudanka (Kostajnica) is completed and beginning of works is expected during this year.
Total price of construction of motorway on Corridor 5-C has been assessed to over 500 million euros, the entity government stated.
Public company "Motorways of RS" plans to build motorway on Corridor 5-C in several stages, and works will be done over the next three years.
Plan is to finance building of two sections from loans of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and other two sections from loans of the European Investment Bank (EIB), whereas negotiations are underway with potential Chinese partners on other models of financing.
