SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Ambassador Lars Gunnar Wigemark stated at the BiH Economic Forum 2019 in Sarajevo today that 2019 is crucial year for BiH, because the European Commission is preparing an opinion to BiH's application for membership.
He hopes that BiH political parties will finalize negotiations on formation of government, but regardless of who is in power they will need to deal with two tasks.
"First is to accelerate the European integration process and implement recommendations of the European Commission and the second one is to continue the reforms," said Wigemark.
He added that economic situation in BiH is different than four years ago, considering that fiscal situation is significantly better and the country records a decent economic growth.
"At the same time, most of those improvements still have not been felt by the population and progress in many areas has been very slow, which is frustrating," said Wigemark.
According to him, in order for BiH to fulfill its full economic potential there needs to be a set of precisely defined measures which the government will follow by 2022.
