SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović told reporters in Sarajevo today that the forthcoming visit to Brussels is the first official visit of members of the state presidency since they have taken office and that it is a very important visit as it is the headquarters of the European Union and the NATO.

“This is the message of the Presidency of BiH that we want to work on our European path as fast as possible. This country should become a member of the European Union and the NATO as soon as possible, because, meeting these two foreign policy goals, we will have a more stable situation in BiH, and we will be able to get out of this situation in which BiH is at the moment,” said Džaferović.

He expects "BiH to receive those signals that can only come from the European Union, which is that in BiH, above all, must be the country that respects the rule as the elementary principle on which the European Union is founded."

Džaferović says that the responses to the additional questions from the EC Questionnaire have been finalized, and that all it is left for them to be translated into English and to get some technical matters done.

“We expect that BiH gets a candidate status as soon as possible,” said Džaferović.
