Džaferović: We are just asking the laws and procedures to be respected

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 14 (FENA) - Šefik Džaferović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that he and Željko Komšić are not conditioning anyone with appointing of prime minister designate for the composition of the BiH Council of Ministers, but that they are merely requesting that the laws and procedures be respected.

He said that what we are witnessing at the moment is in fact a case of faulty reasoning, as he and Komšić are not conditioning anything, but those who unilaterally give up the decisions adopted by the law and earlier decisions of the BiH Presidency are playing the blackmailing game, N1 reports.

“Those who do not respect the laws, the foreign policy of the state, they are the ones who do the blackmailing. It is absolutely clear that the Chairman of the Council of Ministers in this mandate should be elected from the Serb people and proposed by SNSD.

In order for the Presidency to make a decision on the prime minister designate, a parliamentary majority must be assembled with 22 votes, the program must be submitted, with the principles of action contained in it, saying that the laws and established policies will be respected,” stressed Džaferović.

“How can we give a mandate to someone who in advance declares that he would not respect the laws and that BiH would not activate the MAP? When the 22 signatures of the parliamentary majority come in, with the above said principles respected, there will be no problem to offer the mandate,” said Džaferović.

He said that the sessions of the BiH Presidency must be held regularly; there must be mutual respect and then there will be no problems.

“It is obvious that the problem lies with those who declare in advance that they will not respect the law,” said the BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović.
