SARAJEVO, November 25 (FENA) - Numerous delegations of all levels of government in BiH laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial today on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day.
After laying flowers, members of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić congratulated one of the biggest holidays in BiH to all citizens.
Džaferović stated that November 25th is one of the most important dates in modern history of BiH, the day when statehood of BiH, its territorial integrity and sovereignty was renewed and confirmed at ZAVNOBiH session in Mrkonjić Grad, and when equality of all people and citizens in the entire BiH was proclaimed.
Željko Komšić emphasized that documents adopted at ZAVNOBiH sessions in Mrkonjić-Grad and Sanski Most are documents referring to equality of people and citizens, democracy and civilization values.
“That is why it is important to remember those days, people who gave their lives for freedom of this country,” said Komšić.
After laying flowers at the Eternal Flame, delegations also honored killed defenders of BiH at the Kovači cemetery, as well as the first president of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegović.
Members of the BiH Presidency Komšić and Džaferović will host a solemn reception at the BiH Presidency this evening to mark the BiH Statehood Day.
