FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, November 14 (FENA) - Member of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović, met with Director of the Central and Southeast Europe Office at the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs in the US State Department, Susan Falatko, and discussed the situation in BiH after the elections and plans for the future.

Čović pointed out that the parties gathered around the Croat National Assembly (HNS), and himself, as a candidate for a member of the BiH Presidency, got 25 percent more votes from than in the previous elections.

He also said that HDZ and HNS would be constructive partners to the representatives of the other two constituent peoples in the implementation of their program goals.

The newly formed government will have to have a clear concept and a plan on which cooperation will be based in the next mandate period.

This primarily refers to resolving all the outstanding issues from the Reform Agenda and the issue of amending the Election Law.

At the end of the meeting, Falatko stressed that the United States remains strongly committed to Bosnia and Herzegovina, its territorial integrity, sovereignty and the EU and NATO path, and that the implementing of comprehensive reforms is essential for the stable future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and should be in the focus of the new government's activities, stated the BiH Presidency.
