SREBRENICA, October 14 (FENA) - Young Bosniaks and their friends from Croatia, 340 of them in a convoy named "Never forget Srebrenica" visited today the Potočari Memorial Center where they paid tribute to the innocent victims of genocide.
Ekrem Bećirević, Vice President of the Bosniak National Minority Council of the City of Zagreb, told FENA that the goal of this visit was to remember the genocide and never let Srebrenica happen again.
"We have been coming to Srebrenica for the past 12 years. Each year, different people are in the convoy, because our aim is to get as many as possible young people to come to Srebrenica. Bosniaks are not the only ones in the convoy. In fact, there are more of those who are not. The goal is to come here to honor the victims, and understand what genocide truly is. The message they carry with them from here they pass on to their friends and their surroundings so that Srebrenica would never happen again. We are making little but steady steps her," said Bećirović.
Ivan Kralj from Zagreb visited Srebrenica for the first time today and her message is that everyone should come to Srebrenica and to see for themselves what happened during the war.
"I would recommend to everyone I know to come and Visit Srebrenica. When you come here and see all this, it's just a part of what people have experienced here. We all have to share the message out there," said Ivana Kralj.
Nedib Smajić, President of the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly, said the convoy from Zagreb came with the aim of conveying the message so that Srebrenica would never happen to anyone again.
