SARAJEVO, September 18 (FENA) - President of the negotiating team of the employers' group for the textile and leather footwear industry at the Federation of Employers of FBiH, Behrija Huseinbegović and the President of the Union of Textile, Leather, Footwear and Rubber in FBiH Ramiz Omanović signed today in Sarajevo the collective agreement on the rights and obligations of employers and workers in the textile, leather-processing, rubber and footwear industries in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“It is important to note that by signing this collective agreement we will have an increase in the minimum pay per hour, from 2.31 percent to 2.48 percent, i.e. an increase of the lowest salary of employees in the textile, leather-processing, rubber and footwear industry by 7.5 percent.
Also, it is important to mention that the collective agreement reserves the right of employees to meal and holiday allowances,” said Huseinbegović.
The collective agreement defines issues from labor relations, minimum pay/hour, defines the base salary, method and amount of calculation of salary increase based on difficult working conditions.
Also, the rights and obligations for overtime work, nighttime work, work on public holidays and work on days of weekend.
Huseinbegović, in responding to journalists' questions, added that employers in the industry also face the problem of lack of quality workforce, and that they seek, as far as possible, increase of salaries in order to keep the workers.
She noted that this collective agreement represents a good legal framework, but it is necessary to find systemic solutions and implement measures to relieve the burden from the economy.
