SARAJEVO, September 14 (FENA) - Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić met in Sarajevo yesterday with newly appointed Ambassador of Poland to BiH Jaroslaw Lindenberg and talked to him about current security situation and challenges in BiH and the region and enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two states in security sector.
Mektić emphasized that Ministry of Security of BiH pays special attention to regional cooperation with the EU members and fulfillment of European standards in security sector.
He emphasized they will soon exchange EUROPOL liaison officers and start implementing the Operational Agreement with this EU agency in full capacity, which will practically make BiH part of the European security system.
He also informed Ambassador Lindenberg about current migrant situation, stressing that BiH and countries of the region are victims of lack of unified European solution for this problem. He added that success in supression of illegal migrations will only be possible once an agreement is reached on level of the EU and joint actions of countries on the migrant route, stressing that BiH is ready to participate in implementation of all agreed measures and give its full contribution in stopping illegal migrations, Ministry of Security of BiH stated.
