Foreign trade exchange between BiH and China increased by more than 100 percent

SARAJEVO, September 13 (FENA) - At today's meeting of the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to BiH Chen Bo and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Šarović, the two officials emphasized that during the minister's mandate huge progress has been made in the foreign trade exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina with PR China which rose by more than 100 percent.

It was also noted at the meeting that Minister Šarović, who is the national coordinator for cooperation with PR China, secured the signing of several key agreements important for improving economic cooperation, such as agreements in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine, where Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time has been granted permit to export food of animal origin to China.

It was emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a part of China's largest project – the Belt and Road Initiative, in which China has put at disposal more than 100 billion euros for various projects.

Also, the visa liberalization agreement has been signed, which has already placed Chinese tourists in the fifth place in terms of the number of visitors to BiH this year, and it is expected that next year, about 100,000 Chinese tourists will visit our country.

Ambassador of PR China announced the arrival of Deputy Minister of Trade of her country, Fu Ziying, who will meet with Minister Šarović to discuss further progress in the sector of trade, investments and progress in implementation of various projects, especially those related to road infrastructure in RS.

Fu Ziying will lead the Chinese delegation at a meeting of the Joint Committee on Trade and Economy of China and BiH, in Sarajevo from September 27 to 29, announced the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH.
