Network of coordinators for strengthening the role of local communities in BiH

SARAJEVO, September 4 (FENA) - The Alliance of Municipalities and Towns of the Federation of BiH (SOGFBiH) and the Alliance of Municipalities and Towns of RS (SOGRS) have today established a founding meeting of the network of practitioners / coordinators from local self-government units for local community affairs.

The network of practitioners / coordinators of employees in local self-government units dealing with the local community activities aim, inter alia, to improve the application of the regulatory framework, expertise and good practices in the field of exercising the functions of local communities and local self-government in general.

The task of practitioners / coordinators is to establish as better communication as possible with local communities, which then communicate with citizens, all in order to find long-term solutions to the problems they face every day.

Today's event was organized with the support of a joint project of the governments of Switzerland and Sweden, entitled 'Strengthening the role of local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina', implemented by the UNDP in BiH.

So far, the lives of 378,000 citizens have been improved within the local communities and local self-government units with whom they have cooperated, mainly in the field of infrastructure.
