SARAJEVO, August 31 (FENA) - Embassy of the Republic of Turkey to BiH hosted a reception in Sarajevo last night to mark the Victory Day, 96th anniversary of its successful fight for independence.
Ambassador of Turkey to BiH Haldun Koç read messages of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in front of numerous guests at the embassy last night, who said that battles are a symbol of determination of the Turkish nation to protect its freedom and future.
He reminded that Turkish people once again showed to the world on 15th July 2016, when there was a coup attempt, that it is determined to protect its freedom and future from imperialist ambitions.
"Now we are fighting for ourselves, for the oppressed and victims who are looking at us with hope, just as we did in history. This generosity is not out nation's weakness, on the contrary, it is the greatest source of our power," underlined Erdogan in his message that was read by Ambassador Koç.
Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Turkey to BiH Gülhan Yılmaz also addressed and said that 51 cadets from BiH are currently attending military academies in Turkey and he especially emphasized good cooperation between the two countries.
Victory Day and Armed Forces Day is also marked in Turkey in remembrance of this battle after which a modern Republic of Turkey was proclaimed.
Reception was attended by representatives of diplomatic and military corps, representatives of government on all levels in BiH and representatives of cultural and religious life in BiH.
