SARAJEVO, July 19 (FENA) - Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (VTK BiH) requested urgent reaction from Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH after information that Ministry of Economy of UNMIK Kosovo issued a decision on introducing a protection measure on import of milk and sour cream which originates from BiH, and decision on introducing protection measures during import of fruit and vegetables from all countries to territory of UNMIK Kosovo, which comes into effect on July 18 this year.
"Even though the statistical data on BiH – UNMIK Kosovo import and export show there is no registered export of fresh fruit and vegetables, but there is significant export of milk and sour cream to market of UNMIK Kosovo. Considering it is a procedure that would greatly endanger export of dairy industry of BiH, ministry is requested to take all measures to prevent imposition of customs of 17 percent on import of milk and dairy products from BiH to UNMIK Kosovo," Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH stated.
They noted that dairy industry of BiH started recording significant increase in export last year and that market of UNMIK Kosovo is one of the most important markets for export of milk and dairy products from BiH.
