SARAJEVO, July 13 (FENA) - The Federation of BiH has implemented all the measures from the IMF's Letter of Intent, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of FBiH Jelka Milićević.
However, she warned that the adoption of the Draft Law on the Rights of Demobilized Veterans and Members of Their Families in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH is a cause for concern in the IMF and has resulted in the postponement of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the IMF and has put into question the overall arrangement with this international financial institution.
She also added that it is very unusual that all the activities took place just three days before the meeting of the Board of Directors of the IMF and the assessment.
It is estimated that around 14 million KM will be needed for the implementation of the Law on the Rights of Demobilized Veterans and Members of Their Families.
The proposed law with amendments was passed last week by the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament. But, to enter into force it has to be approved by the House of Peoples as well.
An analysis of the effects of this law should be carried out by the IMF representatives whose arrival is expected in BiH after this week's meeting of the Board of Directors was not held.
This was confirmed in a recent statement by the IMF Resident Representative Francisco Parodi, saying that "the IMF needs additional time to evaluate recent decisions by the entity governments to increase benefits for the veterans in FBiH and salaries the public sector in RS".
