Agreement on reconstruction of Olympic Museum in Sarajevo signed

SARAJEVO, May 16 (FENA) - An agreement on the reconstruction, final repairs of the Olympic Museum in Petrakijina's street in Sarajevo, one of the symbols and the most representative buildings of Austro-Hungarian architecture in the city, was signed. The project was done by architect Ivan Strauss.

Mayor Abdulah Skaka expressed his hope that in February next year, the renewed museum would welcome athletes and guests of the European Youth Festival (EYOF).

Director of the Museum, Edin Numankadić, a man who saved the exhibits during the past war, expressed satisfaction that future generations will be left with the only sports museum in BiH.

The reconstruction project was supported by the Government of Sarajevo Canton.
