SARAJEVO, April 13 (FENA) - The Psychiatric Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo (KCUS) will participate as a partner in two projects over the next three years, in cooperation with Queen Mary University of London, the WHO Collaborating Center on Mental Health Services Development.
This center is headed by a prominent researcher Prof. Dr. Stefan Priebe.
The first project is the Global Health Research Group funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), which includes research centers from Great Britain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia and Uganda. The second project is funded under the European Commission’s prestigious Horizon 2020 platform and in addition to KCUS, the University Clinical Centers from Skopje, Podgorica, Belgrade and Pristina also participate.
The aim of the project is to develop and explore the effectiveness of new services for treating people with psychiatric disorders as well as strengthening research capacities in partner institutions. The goal is to create long-lasting sustainable research capacities and develop efficient services.
With this, KCUS additionally positions itself on the global mental health research map. Within these two projects, KCUS employs six young doctors who have received a unique opportunity for education and personal development. The KCUS team currently resides in London as part of the project's start-up program, the KCUS Press Service stated.
