SARAJEVO, March 29 (FENA) - Sixty-five German companies are looking for new potential suppliers of goods and services from Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkan countries, which is an exceptional opportunity for BiH companies that are highly rated by German companies, said participants of today's press conference in Sarajevo organized by the German Foreign Trade Chamber Representative Office in BiH (AHKBiH), which is part of the network of German foreign trade chambers (AHK), and the German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME).
The press conference, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), was organized in connection with the "German Initiative for Finding Suppliers in Western Balkans Countries".
The initiative, or B2B meeting of German, BiH and other companies, will be held on June 19 in Frankfurt. Its aim is that selected BiH and Western Balkans companies meet at a one-day event with German companies interested in establishing new business contacts with producers from these territories.
What the German companies are looking for are companies from the metal processing sector, suppliers from the auto industry, companies from the plastics processing, electric and electronic sectors.
BiH companies can show their interest to participate in the project by filling out the application form on the AHKBiH website and the deadline for applications is April 12.
AHKBiH's Sanjin Purgić explained that after the BiH companies apply for the initiative, the German companies will evaluate and invite to Frankfurt those that they find interesting.
He especially emphasized the importance of proper preparation for the BiH companies for this B2B meeting and announced that with that goal in mind, a seminar will be organized on May 8 in Sarajevo.
He pointed to the fact that in previous events of this kind held in Belgrade and prior to that in Dortmund, BiH companies were best rated among all the companies in the region.
“Last year, out of the top seven rated companies, five were from BiH,” Mr. Purgić said, adding that this says enough about the quality of BiH suppliers.
Snježana Kopruner, chairman of the BiH Wirtschaftsverein Association and the director of the GT-TMT machinery factory in Travnik, which was best rated in Dortmund, highlighted the importance of BTB talks because that is the way in which BiH companies can reach the best buyers.
She stressed that there was a great deficiency of skilled labor in Germany, pointing out that the country needs 1.5 million workers.
“BiH is an ideal place for finding skilled labor and companies ready to produce,” Ms. Kopruner said.
She urged all BiH companies to engage in the initiative, as this could lead to better quality buyers and, eventually, stable contracts in the long run.
Adnan Telalović, director of company ATT from Gornji Vakuf, whose main activity is metal processing, noted that his company was best rated by German companies during the Initiative in Belgrade.
He said that they were currently negotiating with eight major German companies, with four of which they have already signed contracts, received orders and started serial production.
He stressed that, although they were constantly expanding their capacities, they were not sure they will be able to meet the demands of all the interested German companies that contact them every day.
