SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović met today with Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry, who is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 14 and 15.
The main topic discussed at the meeting was the state of protection of intellectual property in BiH, especially the autochthonous products and strengthening of the system of combating violations in terms of intellectual property rights.
It was pointed out that BiH has been continuously improving this segment and that the Strategy on the implementation of intellectual property rights will soon be discussed by the Council of Ministers of BiH.
“The Council of Ministers will soon consider a strategy aimed at strengthening the system of combating infringement of intellectual property rights, import of counterfeit goods, strengthening market control and inspections,” emphasized Minister Šarović, stressing that the strengthening of intellectual property rights is very important for the development of the economy, foreign investments and competitiveness of BiH economy.
