SARAJEVO, March 12 (FENA) - The “EU Horizon 2020 - Small and Medium Enterprises Instrument” workshop, which was held today in Sarajevo, presented funding opportunities for the period from 2018 to 2020 within the framework of this program, the strategy for obtaining financial resources, and examples from practice.
Director of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber's Education Department, Elma Kovačević-Bajtal, said that the goal of today's workshop was to inform about the rules of the Horizon 2020 program and that it was organized in cooperation with the European Training Academy.
She added that BiH companies had the opportunity to apply for this fund, but so far the results had been absent, which is why they decided to organize training on project writing that meets the necessary criteria.
The European Training Academy manager for BiH, Aldin Ćelović, said that a series of similar trainings was already being held across BiH, but that there are still very few BiH firms whose projects have been approved and that received funds.
He explained that some projects from BiH have been included in "Horizon 2020" and that certain funds have been approved, but even in those cases, the companies from BiH were not leading the application process but were third parties.
The workshop is intended for representatives of small and medium enterprises, micro enterprises, business support organizations, innovation support agencies, entrepreneurs' associations and the like.
For projects in the SME sector, the maximum amount of grants is up to 50,000 euros.
