MOSTAR, January 22 (FENA) - In an interview with the BiH edition of "Vecernji list" daily, President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Cavara, when asked whether there was a possibility of dissolving the Federal Parliament, has responded that he will use his powers "if he finds it necessary."
- The Constitution stipulates that the President of the FBiH dissolves both houses of the FBiH Parliament when they fail to adopt the budget before the beginning of the budget year. I do not see what has changed in this moment since the budget was not adopted before the start of this budget year. That is why I repeat, if tensions continue to be created and harmfull decisions made, then it would be less detrimental to dissolve Parliament. The position of the President of FBiH is very clear and I will use my powers if I find it necessary.
Commenting on the changes of the Election Law of BiH, Cavara pointed out that they were necessary because the interventions in the Washington and Dayton Agreements had brought the Croats in a position not being able to exercise their legitimate rights.
- Bosniak politicians publicly speak that they will not allow Croats to elect their representatives, which is inadmissible in the democratic world. After that, the public is deceived by the stories that the equality of peoples in BiH should be provided on the entire territory, the representation and belonging to a people is mixed up, and we feel even stupid that we have to explain all that. It is clear to everyone that a member is not the same as a representative, because the Constitutional Court clearly defines what legitimate representation means- Cavara added.
The President of the Federation of BiH recalls that BiH is based on the equality of the three peoples and on peace agreements.
- Croats insist that BiH should return to the bases because there have been 120 interventions in the Constitution of the FBiH at our expense. Unfortunately, the policy of all parties in rejecting the possibility for Croats to elect their legitimate representatives is common, and it is very clear that it is an attempt to absolutely dominate. This is even contrary to the so-called pro - Bosnian orientation because it, in my opinion, implies all the diversities of BiH. These are the forces that, I repeat once more, most undermine BiH - Cavara asserted.
