SARAJEVO, October 4 (FENA) - The Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR) announced ten measures to improve the functionality of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted from the imposed amendments to the BiH Election Law.
“After these decisions, no political party, nor any elected official, will be able to hold the Federation of BiH hostage anymore,” said the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.
The OHR's Twitter account lists the measures that have been introduced, among which, says Schmidt, is the one that improves decision-making in the FBiH Parliament with clear deadlines to prevent blockades.
Also, the appointment of judges to the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and measures to prevent abuse of Vital National Interest protection with issues that are not clearly outlined in the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been simplified.
The appointment of judges to the Vital National Interest Protection Panel of the FBiH Constitutional Court was also simplified, and the proportionality of representation of constituent peoples and regional representation of Others in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament was improved.
Also, the procedure for appointing delegates to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH has been simplified, and transparency and expediency in the process of confirming the list of candidates for President and Vice Presidents of the FBiH has been improved, claims Schmidt.
He emphasizes that the procedure for nominating candidates for the president and vice-presidents of the FBiH has been simplified, and the limitations on representation have been clarified and legislated to encourage the formation of coalitions and prevent over-representation.
And at the end of these changes, the parliamentary bodies of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina were ordered to ensure the participation of citizens, including youth, in the legislative work.
