SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - The cities with the highest internet speeds on the market will stimulate the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina - is the message of the conference hosted today in Sarajevo by the company Telemach.

At the conference "Giga cities - drivers of digitization and development of BiH", it was pointed out that BH Telemach's investments in infrastructure, which is the basis of the technological development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will contribute to the positioning of the country on the map of digitally desirable locations, both for the business sector and for individuals.

The general director of BH Telemach, Admir Drinić, said that today there are 27 "Giga cities" in BH, i.e. cities where users have gigabit internet speeds.

"Today, Bosnia and Herzegovina is, unfortunately, at the back of the digital development among the countries of the Western Balkans, far behind neighboring countries. We are actively working to change that situation with the concept of Giga cities and other investments so far," Drinić added.

He pointed out that in the past 12 years, the company has invested more than 200 million euros in infrastructure projects aimed at digitizing the country, and in the next five years they plan to invest an additional 75 million euros in the network and services.

The BH Telemach Board member Hajdi Mostić underlined that it is important to discuss the development of digitization in BH and find a solution for the country to move forward from 115th place in average speeds according to Ookla measurements.
