GRADAČAC, August 27 (FENA) - At the 5th International Beekeeping Fair organized by the "Pčela" Beekeepers' Association in Gradačac, awards and medals were awarded for the quality of evaluated honey. Chemical and sensory analysis of the submitted samples was performed at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla, while 189 medals and trophies were awarded for the top-quality produced honey.
"Honey samples were delivered from beekeepers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighboring Croatia and Montenegro.
"The importance of the beekeeping fair is seen in the promotion of beekeeping products and that visitors to the fair, as well as our fellow citizens, become familiar with the use and consumption of beekeeping products. Our fairs can contribute to the best possible promotion, but also for citizens to buy honey from beekeepers and thus avoid buying adulterated honey, and we know that there is quite a lot of it on the territory of BiH," said the president of the Association of Beekeepers "Pčela" from Gradačac, Mirsad Delibašić.
Nikola Gvozdenović from Bar (Montenegro) had the best-rated honey at this year's beekeeping fair in Gradačac. First place in the linden honey category went to Samid Omerčić and Senad Bristrić from Mionica near Gradačac.
The trophy for the best-rated chestnut honey went to Salem Porić from Bužim, and the first place in the flower honey category went to Hasan Huseinagić from Ledenice (Gradačac).
In the acacia honey category, the sample of Ruzmir Hodžić from Zelinja Srednja was the best rated, and the cup for meadow honey went to Mirsad Suljić from Vučkovec.
The SMS scale was also presented at the fair, a device that allows beekeepers to measure the yield of honey in the hives at any time, but also to receive data such as the position of humidity and air temperature, the temperature inside the hive and notifications about the safety of the apiary.
