SARAJEVO, May 4 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received Mirjana Špoljarić Egger, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of the UNDP and Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The two officials talked about the ongoing situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on the issues related to the mandate of the United Nations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina said that the United Nations, despite all its shortcomings and weaknesses, is the best multilateral framework in the world and that it needs to be strengthened and developed, not dismantled and weakened.
The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina said that he supported the efforts to make the United Nations system more efficient through reforms so that it would not be subject to obstructions and blockades, especially when dealing with security crises such as the current aggression against Ukraine and that the experience of aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina should be a constant warning in that sense.
Džaferović gave full support to UNDP projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying they are extremely important for the overall development of the BiH society, the BiH Presidency said.
