SARAJEVO, December 9 (FENA) - Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against Milomir Đuričić, aka "Đure", born in 1952 in Pozderčići, Višegrad municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Vukadin Spasojević, aka " Mićo and “Era”, born in 1953 in Rodić Brdo, Višegrad Municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused are charged that from May 1992 to the end of September 1993, as part of a widespread and systematic attack against the Bosniak civilian population in the Višegrad municipality, Milomir Đuričić as the warden of the Uzamnica camp in Višegrad and Vukadin Spasojević as warden in the camp, as members of the Višegrad Brigade of the Army of Republika Srpska, they persecuted the Bosniak civilian population from the area of the Višegrad municipality on national, ethnic and religious grounds.
According to the indictment, the defendants repeatedly committed acts of unlawful detention, torture, ill-treatment and other inhumane acts committed against detained civilians, including rape and sexual abuse of victims in extremely degrading ways, as well as holding prisoners in extremely inhumane conditions leaving lasting physical and mental consequences on the victims.
The accused Vukadin Spasojević is also charged with ordering the abuse of victims.
The accused are charged with committing crimes against humanity.
The prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 19 witnesses, four of whom are witnesses with assigned protection measures and attaching dozens of pieces of material evidence.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
