SARAJEVO, April 14 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić extended congratulations on the occasion of April 15, the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“On the occasion of the Day of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I extend my most sincere congratulations to all members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with words of gratitude for everything they did defending our only homeland, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he said.
Komšić pointed out that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina was not defended by politicians or foreign diplomats.
“The greatest credit for the existence of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina goes to the ordinary soldiers who in impossible conditions did their best to preserve the survival of BiH. Soldiers of the Army of RBiH, without any international military support, although our country was still a member of the UN, fought against aggressors and domestic criminals for three years, just to gain the right to give their political representatives a chance to sit at the table and negotiate peace and preserve the state within its historical borders. The greatest feats, he added, were done by themselves, and the sacrifice they made for this country is only ours and no one else's. We owe that peace and the state, not ideal, but still ours, only to those who are not with us today, our comrades-in-arms, brothers, friends, neighbors,” he said.
