NEUM, March 18 (FENA) - Croatia's foreign policy interest is sincere advocacy for Bosnia and Herzegovina to obtain a candidate status for the European Union membership as soon as possible. We are making great efforts in that and I think it should be experienced as such in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well, pointed out in Neum on Thursday the Foreign and European Affairs Minister of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman.
"Croatia will never interfere into the internal political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor will it offer any models, as some may consciously or unconsciously twist some interviews that have always been affirmative when it comes to BiH. Of course, the political elite will design those models that are tailored to the needs of constituent peoples and other citizens in BiH. Multiethnic identity has been present here for centuries. BiH is a beautiful country that needs to be understood, talked about and we should always be looking for compromise solutions," said Grlić Radman.
The Republic of Croatia is a country that is the most interested in Bosnia and Herzegovina being prosperous, stable and functional.
"We share more than 1,000 kilometers of border, so if Croatia has fulfilled its membership in the European Union, foreign policy priorities, NATO membership, why not share it with its neighbors, and especially with BiH, with which we have a common past and history. We support those models that satisfy every person in BiH, and of course, that equality and constituent status are the foundations, the identity and it has been so for centuries. Also, the agreement of the three peoples is essential in order to overcome all the problems that exist.
Today, we do not see politicians here but those who are trying to offer models to solve certain problems as successfully as possible. This is actually a conference of a universal nature that tomorrow can take placein Germany, England and the like, I am very impressed with the structure of the panel and the speakers," said Grlić Radman.
Grlić Radman pointed out that he believes in a modern Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state of three equal constituent peoples, which will have a sincere friend and advocate in Croatia on its way to the European Union and NATO.
