Tadić and Brammertz on preparation of semi-annual report to UN Security Council

SARAJEVO, May 5 (FENA) - Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH Gordana Tadić and her associates held a video meeting with Chief Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) Serge Brammertz and his team to discuss preparation of the prosecutor's semi-annual report to the UN Security Council.

During the meeting, they expressed mutual satisfaction that the cooperation continued in the newly emerged circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, since during this time period an intensive forwarding of mutual requests for assistance in war crimes cases was continued through electronic communication and liaison officer located in the Office of the IRMCT.

They also discussed regional cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes cases, in particular forwarded cases of category two to the judiciary of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia, and cooperation with the judiciary of Montenegro. It was concluded that the aforementioned activities will continue with the assistance of the Office of the Prosecutor of IRMCT, as well as other previously planned and ongoing activities.

Tadić briefed Brammertz on the work of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in the context of the pandemic and the measures taken in that regard. Tadić also spoke about the promotion of office management activities and related practices, and Brammertz promised that his office would support in these and other matters.

The cooperation will continue in the coming period, and after the conditions change, it will start implementing the planned joint activities, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
