Crnadak: Nikolić's dismissal was Dodik’s wrong move

BANJA LUKA, October 25 (FENA) - BiH Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak said today that it was a mistake for BiH Presidency Member Milorad Dodik to request the dismissal of Aleksandar Nikolić from the post of BiH's Honorary Consul in Israel, whom the Serbian government has now named for its consul in that country.

Minister Crnadak said that Serbia made a good decision, which shows Dodik's "wrong move."

He claims that he does not know why Dodik requested his dismissal, perhaps because, as he says, he spoke openly about problems in the work of the RS Delegation to Israel or whether it was a "personal problem".

"After the message that Nikolić is good for the Serbian Government, and is a man who has many quality ties in Israel, Dodik should explain why he dismissed Nikolić and why we were left without this man, who was proposed by the Republika Srpska," Crnadak said.

He thinks it is high time for the BiH Parliament to start working and that the parties that formed the leadership in both Houses finally "stop blocking the work of the Parliament because it harms all citizens".

“Nikola Špirić, who was one of the parliamentary representatives of BiH in Strasbourg, made incorrect statements in the Council of Europe when he said that BiH did not have a delegation to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, because no legal conditions were created for this. That is not true, the Council of Ministers election has nothing to do with it, and BiH does not have a delegation in that body simply because three parties, primarily the SNSD, do not want to do it and they formed and constituted the leadership of the parliament,” Crnadak claims.

Crnadak welcomed the European Parliament's resolution on the accession of North Macedonia and Albania into the EU, pointing out that it is an encouraging sign and shows a broad-based willingness to extend the EU to this part of Europe.

It is very important for the EU, as he said, to respond fairly to those who are making progress, because without that pro-European mood in the region will be jeopardized.

“I believe the EU will correct the mistake that has been made. Every step forward made by any country in the region towards the EU is an impetus and strong support to others who are on the way,” he said.

He said there are no irregularities in the work of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
