MEĐUGORJE, August 6 (FENA) - The 30th Jubilee International Youth Festival – Mladifest, which brought together tens of thousands of people from around the world, ended early this morning in Međugorje.
This year's festival, which has been taking place since August 1 under the motto "Follow me", ended with a thanksgiving service on the Hill of Križevac, led by the parish priest of Međugorje, Fr. Marinko Šakota.
On the last night of the festival, the young people brought to the altar a hundred meters long canvas on which they inscribed their prayers.
The Holy Mass was attended by 714 priests and led by the President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of New Evangelization, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, who urged the youth not to stop at the difficulties and anxieties of life but to share these difficulties with their contemporaries who care for them.
The program of the whole festival was simultaneously translated into twenty world languages, and besides prayer, masses, spiritual exercises, etc., young people could listen to various testimonies of ordinary people.
The live broadcast last night was viewed from 2,856,000 unique IPs, with numerous cable broadcasters worldwide involved in the broadcast.
