SDA: OHR, OSCE and PIC should stop backing down from Dodik's attacks on BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 25 (FENA) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) rejects the allegations expressed yesterday by OHR and OSCE in their statements saying that an appeal calling for the elimination of discrimination in the name itself, as well as systematic discrimination in the entity of Republika Srpska, “is irresponsible and counterproductive and that it further undermines trust among the constituent peoples and their political representatives," and that we are using "inflammatory language”.

According to the SDA, this is an obvious case of faulty reasoning and the use of a red herring.

“It is not the announcement of our appeal that has caused tensions, nor do we use inflammatory language which would undermine trust among the constituent peoples, but, on the contrary, the day to day inflammatory statements and actions of Milorad Dodik and other RS entity officials that continuously undermine trust among peoples and the absence of reaction to such behavior, has provoked the announcement of such an appeal," it is said in the statement of SDA.

Instead of rigorously reacting to the SDA's announcement that it shall, in accordance with legal and constitutional procedures, demand the elimination of discrimination against non-Serbs in the RS entity, as it was the case with previous appeals to the Constitutional Court of BiH for the elimination of discrimination against Serbs in FBiH, the OHR,the OSCE and the Peace Implementation Council are hereby urged to stop backing down from the continuous attacks against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement that come from Milorad Dodik and other RS entity officials.

“It is precisely their passiveness, the lack of timely reaction and concrete moves, and often the cowardly attitude towards continued undermining of the BiH institutions and expressions of mere “concern” that have encouraged this apartheid policy towards non-Serbs in the RS entity and a destructive policy towards the state itself.

The SDA also states that it is highly indicative to see such harsh reactions to the initiative of SDA, which calls for the respect of the Constitution, laws and decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, and yet, they are completely silent and are doing nothing when Milorad Dodik gives a statement on the same day that "Republika Srpska is ready for secession".

It is unacceptable that the criticism is targeted against SDA, which through its activities fights for the strengthening of BiH and the elimination of discrimination in every part of BiH, and that they do not react to those who make this discrimination their everyday policy, going directly against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions, it is said in the statement of SDA.
