BERLIN/SARAJEVO, March 17 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić met today in Berlin with Bundestag member Jasmina Hostert.
Zvizdić informed MP Hostert about the political situation in the country and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the problems, is committed to the European and NATO perspective. He stressed that accession to the European Union is the main foreign policy priority of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- In the conditions of the great crisis in the world caused by the invasion of Russia on Ukraine, for my country, there is no alternative to the Euro-Atlantic path that we have long planned. What is very important today is the pace at which we will achieve these goals. Given that European integration is the driving force behind all positive reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the speed of the process of joining the European Union is more important today than ever. As I have said countless times so far, the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no matter how thorny it may seem, really has no alternative. Last week, by adopting three laws that have yet to be approved by the House of Peoples, we gained credible conditions for membership in the European Union - said Zvizdić and expressed satisfaction that Bosnia and Herzegovina has sincere friends in the German Bundestag.
MP Hostert said that Germany maintains that the architecture of the Western Balkans is complete and that work should be done in the coming period to stabilize the overall situation in BiH in order to stop the departure of young and educated people, and that, in terms of preserving democratic values, general elections.
- The future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the European Union and it has no alternative, but Europe must be present and active in the region, and the open-door policy is constantly updated - said Chairman Zvizdić, said the Public Relations Department of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.
