BIHAĆ, April 13 (FENA) - Head of the Delegation and Special Representative of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Johann Sattler, today, during his visit to Bihać and the Una-Sana Canton, met with cantonal and city political leaders and representatives.
They discussed the specific competences and obligations of the Una-Sana Canton in the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union. On this occasion, a "Political Dialogue" was organized, which was attended by all relevant actors of political, social, and economic life in this part of the country.
“We talked about the opportunities and challenges, but also the European perspective of this canton, which is the closest and most advanced towards the European Union. Obtaining the candidate status of Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership in the European Union represents a special step forward, but also a chance. Some obligations need to be fulfilled at all levels of government, including the cantonal one, given its many responsibilities,” Sattler said.
Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, and the Speaker of the Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton, Jasmin Musić, noted that the meeting defined the dynamics of fulfilling obligations under the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Government and the Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton. The officials confirmed readiness to create all the prerequisites, which guarantee the stabilization of political, social, and economic conditions.
