SARAJEVO, July 8 (FENA) - The leader of the Islamic Community (IC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein effendi Kavazović today extended a message to Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the homeland countries and the diaspora on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
"In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate. We are immensely grateful to Him for this day, in which pilgrims from all over the world perform the basic rite of Hajj - staying and worshiping at Mount Arafat. We join them in sincere and contrite prayers, hoping that the Almighty receive our prayers and theirs, that He will hear our prayers in which we ask Him for peace in us, in our families and in our communities.
May Eid awaken in us the willingness to follow the path of faith and the path of good that it paves and that makes us happy. Let's rejoice in the good we will do to ourselves and others. And let it be a permanent source of our strength and readiness to resolutely and strongly oppose the evil that is constantly lurking.
During these days, let us show our respect for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica. May our sacrifice of faith be complemented by the constant memory of this planetary evil committed against our people and may it awaken in us the strength and determination to oppose it and to defeat it in the future.
We invite our neighbors to join us in this, to share with us the immense pain and sadness that we will bear in these days. We believe that it will be easier for all of us.
I wish you all welcome tomorrow's holiday among your families, neighbors and friends. Let's share the joy of Eid with those who are lonely, sad and in trouble.
I congratulate all Muslim men and women in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the coming days of Eid al-Adha.
I especially congratulate our brothers and sisters in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and the Bosniak diaspora, and all the Muslim faithful. Eid Mubarek Olsun!
