SARAJEVO, June 17 (FENA) - The central ceremony of the Islamic Community in BiH, on the occasion of the Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr), was held on Friday at the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque in Sarajevo, and the prayer and the Khutbah was led by Raisu-l-ulama Husein effendi Kavazović.
Eid is the joy of believers and the faithful. It comes down on us in all its beauty with each celebration. It comes after our great success in submitting to the will of Allah, our great sacrifice and renunciation in His name,” Kavazović said.
In the month of Ramadan, as he added, we particularly trust in the judgment of God when our burdens will be relieved, worries removed, tears and sweat wiped out, and joy and smile would return to our faces.
Faith and goodness, said Raisu-l-ulama, are left to us by God's friends and ‘evliyas’. They testified the faith and did not lose hope when everything seemed lost in the eyes of others and when everyone believed that evil finally triumphed.
“Those Muslims that do not hold on to the testimony of the Prophet, will betray their faith, turn their back on God, the Prophet, and the Muslim community. The time ahead will testify who we are, and what we are made of,” said Kavazović.
Kavazović added that honorable and good people are those who live in the community and for it, those who contribute to the good and struggle to make life easier for the people, take care of them, their jobs, their health, education and peace.
It is in the nature of every man, Kazazović said, to love his country, his homeland. Every Muslim, who respects himself, knows that the homeland is our house, a home in which our people live. Our learned people have told us, said Raisu-l-ulama, that love for the homeland is part of the faith, because homeland is not only a physical but also a spiritual category.
“Let's open our hearts to others, do good, and keep them and ourselves from evil. Let us try to do good and earn good things on this and some future world. Let us be aware that there is no reward without effort and good deeds,” said Kavazović in his Eid message.
