SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - Series of trainings for rural households in Katun settlements on the Vranica Mountain in the fields of providing tourist services and safety in food production were held in February and March, within the project "Katun Roads of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina" funded by the EU.
The trainings organized in Fojnica were successfully completed by 75 participants, which strengthened the capacities of households in five Katun settlements on the Vranica Mountain (Prokoško Lake, Vrtača, Golica, Gvožđanske staje and Otigoške staje), located between the municipalities of Fojnica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo and Visoko.
In the previous period of project implementation, solar systems were also allocated to rural households for Katun settlements in order to improve their capacities for providing tourist services. Other project activities include tracing the thematic Katun trail "Vranički katuni" more than 211 km long and setting up tourist signs on it.
The aim of the project is to improve the quality and diversify the tourist offer, based on the natural and cultural heritage of the cross-border area. The total value of the project is more than 466,000 euros, SERDA said.
