SARAJEVO, April 1 (FENA) - Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ankica Gudeljević talked today in Strasbourg with Council of Europe Secretary-General Marija Pejčinović Burić about cooperation, especially in the field of culture.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Europe praised the role of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Council of Europe. She thanked Minister Gudeljević for participating in the Conference of Ministers of Culture and significant contribution to the work of the Council of Europe.
Pejčinović Burić emphasized the importance of declarations, which are adopted at the Conference. She called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign the Council of Europe Convention on Criminal Offenses, adopted in May 2017 in Nicosia, relating to cultural property.
In the conversation between Minister Gudeljević and Secretary-General Marija Pejčinović Burić, the importance of the European Heritage Strategy for the 21st century was emphasized. Pejčinović thanked BiH for participating in the European Heritage Days, saying that the theme for this year is sustainability in the field of culture.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the digitalization of cultural heritage in order to preserve it for future generations.
The Council of Europe's Cultural Routes and Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in the project were also discussed, which was assessed as extremely successful.
Minister Ankica Gudeljević thanked for the reception, emphasizing the importance of culture, language, and cultural heritage for one nation, and emphasizing the role of culture in bringing peoples together.
