SARAJEVO, April 16 (FENA) - Our Party and Independent Bloc Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina considers it irresponsible and detrimental the decision of the Collegium of the BiH Parliament to adjourn and postpone the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament for the end of this month.
“This decision is not supported by the confirmation received yesterday by all deputies for the purpose of proving reasons for postponing at a time when it was banned at the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, given that the session was scheduled for thirteen days,” said the deputy chairperson of the Our Party-Independent Bloc Caucus Aida Baručija.
She emphasizes that all the conditions necessary for holding of the sessions have long been secured and therefore it is totally unacceptable to further move the date of the session without any justification.
“If the session is held at the end of the month, it means that the austerity measures we have proposed will not be adopted this month. Also, we believe that it is urgent to establish a framework for holding local elections this year and to ensure that we finally get new legal solutions that will allow electronic voting, scanning of ballots and holding fair elections in municipalities and cities across BiH, as well as in the city of Mostar,” Baručija emphasized.
She stressed that if the Collegium of Parliament remains committed to postponing the session, Our Party - Independent Bloc Caucus with partners from other opposition parties will make a request for an emergency session, which should be held early next week, Our Party announced.
