GORAŽDE, October 29 (FENA) - Investigators from the Missing Persons Institute (INO) of BiH, along with a pathologist and assistant prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, are repeating extraction of bone samples for DNA analysis at the Identification Center in Goražde.
Spokesperson of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH Emza Fazlić explained that the samples were taken from three victims who were exhumed at the Tuneli grave and for whom an identity has not yet been obtained.
"Bone samples were previously taken for these victims, however DNA analysis was not "successful" because no identity has been obtained and the procedure is now being repeated to determine the identity. In the coming period, we will have more information when the analysis is done and we hope that this time the identity of the victims will be determined," said Fazlić.
She emphasized that 7.206 missing persons are still being searched in BiH and that the largest number of missing persons is in the area of Srebrenica, Prijedor and eastern Bosnia, where hundreds of missing persons are still being searched.
Spokesperson of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH noted that the problem is less and less accurate and true information about the locations of graves.
"We appeal daily to those who know, to finally speak and say where the remains of the victims of the past war are, to finally find their peace and that their families have a place where they can come and pray for their loved ones," stated Fazlić.
