SARAJEVO, September 3 (FENA) – FBiH Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) announced that summer 2019 can be characterized as one of the hottest since meteorological measurements began.
They point out that there were heat waves, a large number of days with maximum temperatures above 30°C, spatially and quantitatively uneven rainfall that fluctuated over large ranges, from extremely rainy in Bugojno to dry in Livno.
According to the percentile method, temperature values for summer compared to the reference climatological period 1961-1990 are categorized as 'extremely warm'.
According to the medium-term forecast, until September 10, variable weather is expected with longer sunny periods, with possible local showers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Fall 2019, when compared to the same period last year, should be slightly cooler in the southern and northern and central regions of approximate temperature values, with greater rainfall throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to FHMZ, higher temperatures are expected than usual in the forecasted period.
