EAST SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) – German Ambassador to BiH Christiane Hohmann visited today the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption (APIK) in East Sarajevo, where she met with the Agency’s Director, Hasim Šabotić, and his deputies Dragan Slipac and Dragan Anđelić.
The Agency’s management informed their guest about the competencies and scope of work of the Agency, the results achieved so far in the field of prevention and coordination of the fight against corruption in BiH, as well as the activities that the Agency intends to implement.
The management also informed the German Ambassador about the problems that this institution encounters in its work and presented a vision for their partial overcoming.
Ms. Hohmann expressed her wholehearted support for the fight against corruption in BiH and stressed the readiness of the German Embassy to assist the Agency in its activities regarding prevention and coordination of the fight against corruption in BiH.
Special emphasis was placed on the need to raise public awareness of the harmfulness of corruption in BiH, as well as the important role of this agency in the process.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with today’s highly productive meeting, as well as their belief that this is only the beginning of successful cooperation between the Germany Embassy and APIK.
