Steinmeier: I expect more progress and optimism in the lives of BiH citizens

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO/BERLIN, January 12 (FENA) - President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed expectation at his meeting with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Germany, Željko Janjetović, that in 2018, and in the years to come, there will be much more optimism and progress in the lives of BiH citizens.

Steinmeier and Janjetović met after the traditional New Year's reception in the Schloss Bellevue Presidential Palace in Berlin, organized for representatives of the diplomatic corps, where the BiH Ambassador thanked Steinmeier for his engagement when it comes to BiH, as well as the whole region of the Western Balkans.

During the ceremony, German President said that the world today more than ever needs democracy, openness and harmony, and that, in addition to its prosperity, Germany also deeply cherishes the prosperity of the European Union, but also the countries in its neighborhood and beyond.

He added that today's modern world cannot be built on an exclusively national or ethnic basis, where everyone is looking after their short-term interests alone, stated the Public Relations Office of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
