SARAJEVO, January 9 (FENA) - Refusal to comply with the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has declared as unconstitutional the ‘Day of RS’, celebrated on 9 January, constitutes a violation of the rule of law, and those who commit such actions must be held accountable, stated the Embassy of the United States in BiH.

In a statement to FENA, the US Embassy’s Office for Public Affairs today recalled the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, emphasizing that the decisions of this court are final and binding and must be respected.

“We have nothing against the RS celebrating its holidays, but these celebrations should be held by respecting the rule of law and the rights of all constituent peoples, which is crucial for democratic processes,” said the US Embassy.

The Embassy is also of the opinion that it is irresponsible of political leaders to continue polarizing the political dialogue in BiH instead of dealing with the problems that the citizens of this country face on a daily basis.
