SARAJEVO, January 9 (FENA) – The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina believes it is inadmissible and unacceptable that the internal policy of BiH is tailored in Turkey at the upcoming meeting between Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the party said in a statement.
They said it was a matter of tenacity of interference in the internal affairs of BiH, a practice that has been known for decades by BiH’s nearest neighbors in Belgrade and Zagreb, “and it is now obvious that there are attempts to drag Turkey into those processes.”
“It is obvious that President Grabar-Kitarović has taken seriously the fact that BiH was left as a pledge to Turkey and its president. In this way we want to remind them that BiH is neither Croatian nor Serbian nor Turkish, nor has it been left as a pledge to anyone. It is a sovereign state and its fate can only be decided by the citizens of BiH. The meeting in Istanbul, which would see discussions on BiH’s internal affairs, would represent a sort of a political occupation of our country. We therefore urge SDA to demonstrate whether they truly believe that BiH is left as a pledge to Erdogan and whether it is acceptable to them that the Turkish president negotiates on behalf of BiH with the Croatian President or whether their talk of wanting a sovereign BiH serves only to mislead the public,” the statement reads.
“Any agreements reached outside of the state institutions and without the representatives of BiH in third countries, are seen by SDP as void and will never support them,” said SDP.
