MOSTAR, August 10 (FENA) - A fire broke out on Mount Prenj on Tuesday evening around 8:45 p.m., the Operational Center of Civil Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton reported on Wednesday morning.
According to the residents of the village of Jasenjani, near Mostar, low vegetation is burning and there is a danger that the fire will spread to a larger forest nearby.
The fire brigade from Mostar stated that they were unable to extinguish the fire due to the inaccessibility of the terrain.
The situation at the fire sites on Mount Žaba in Neum is unchanged, but the population and facilities are not threatened.
The Neum Operations Center will make a statement about the need to engage a helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina after visiting the field.
The situation remained unchanged at the fire sites in Borci and Glavatičevo near Konjic. Firefighters are on the ground, but the population and buildings are not threatened, therefore the engagement of the AF BiH helicopter is not required.
