Police operation codenamed 'Nevera' carried out on the order of BiH Prosecutor's Office

SARAJEVO, August 1 (FENA) - On the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an operation codenamed "Nevera" is being carried out targeting several persons suspected of international drug trafficking, announced the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The police officers of the MoI of the Sarajevo Canton have acted according to the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and under the supervision of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, carried out arrests and searches of suspects in the area of Sarajevo and its surroundings.

The press release states that the suspects are under investigation for being involved in the unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs in the Sarajevo area and beyond, as well as smuggling narcotic drugs from neighboring countries for further resale in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and further distribution to the illegal drug market of the countries of the European Union and in that way gained illegal financial benefit.

The suspects are charged with criminal offenses of organized crime in connection with the criminal offenses of illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and money laundering under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Significant international cooperation with EUROPOL was achieved in this case.
